Ardbeg Eureka! is a limited-edition Islay single malt whisky that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, a global fanbase that has played a pivotal role in the distillery’s resurgence. This release is the culmination of “Operation Smokescreen,” a unique tasting event where 100 Committee members from 15 countries sampled and provided feedback on five different whisky samples. Their collective insights guided Dr. Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald in crafting Eureka!, a whisky that embodies the diverse palates of Ardbeg enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: A rich and fruity aroma with notes of cherry and red apple, complemented by caramelized coffee grounds, cocoa powder, and hints of heather bonfires and sweet tobacco leaves. Subtle herbal undertones of cedar and fennel add complexity.

• Palate: A harmonious blend of sweet flavors, including nut toffee brittle, soft toffee with sultanas, and dark fruits like figs, plums, and cherry plums. These are balanced by a salty, rock-pool minerality, creating a multi-layered tasting experience.

• Finish: A long, satisfying finish that lingers with notes of dark chocolate, walnut oil, and a touch of smoke, reminiscent of a freshly tarred road.
