New Holland’s The Poet (ABV 5.8%) is a perfect representation of balance and one of America’s leading oatmeal stouts. Oats bring a creaminess and soft mouthfeel to the roast malt character in our classic oatmeal stout. 12 oz can.

As reviewed on BeerAdvocate.com by damndirtyape from Ohio: “Taste: Definite chocolate note up front, with some notable malt sweetness. Roasted malt character shows up, along with some lingering char and herbal notes at the finish. Mouthfeel: Very good thickness, with just right carbonation. A bit of a dry finish. Overall / Drinkability: Easily drinkable, and definitely on the sweet side for an oatmeal stout. I’d almost call it a sweet / milk stout, but it’s not quite there. Definitely need to pair this with some pastry or dessert, although I think this would go well with a burger as well.”

Brett VanderKamp and Jason Spaulding grew up together in Midland, Michigan, and later attended Hope College.
